I found my Brother HL-3040CN Colour Laser Printer a very good printer, the quailty of the prints are very good, it arrived after 2 days of purchasing.It is very simple and easy to set up. It has a good overall performance and is good value for money.

Review for: Brother HL-3040CN Colour Laser Printer
We bought this colour printer for the staff room. The only network printer in the whole building was in my work area and everybody was printing to it. We bought this brother hl-3040cn printer, put it in a central location and everybody can use it now and I can work without being disturbed. It can also be pin and password protected in order to limit the use of it during the other shifts. This brother hl-3040cn printer has really impressed everyone.

I\'ve had this Brother HL-3040CN for a couple of months now and I am very satisfied mostly with the print speed it offers - it is very efficient for both mono and colour printing. I didn\'t notice it to be heavy on toner usage really.

i have to totally disagree with rob here - i've had a hp printer before and it didn't even come close to the amount of pages that you can print (even with starter cartridges) using the hl-3040! You are complaining about a particular setting that can be easily avoided by adding an extra click or two when going to print... i've had this brother machine for six months now and all i can say is that it is a highly reliable printer. it is not a secret that every printer comes with starter toners and you just have to know how to make most of it. in fairness 900 pages doesn't sound bad and you could have got at least 30 or 40% more if you had it used wisely.

We bought the Brother HL-3040CN for our marketing department and it was the perfect choice. The colour prints are very professional and the quality is just as good as outside printing. The speed is another great bonus at 16ppm in both colour and mono. There are some nice little features which help to save costs and this has benefitted us greatly where handouts/booklets are concerned. I couldn't really say anything bad about this Brother HL-3040CN to be honest.

Don't expect to get more than 900 pages out of the starter cartridges supplied, before having to replace all 4 at a cost of ~€280. The printers drivers default to printing using colour cartridges even when the page is a black and white text document if not ordered to print in black/white. I would not recommend this hl-3040cn printer.

This colour printer is the first time Brother has used a row of LEDs rather than a laser to draw a page image on to the drum. This means fewer moving parts, which should extend the printer's life. LED printers are inherently simpler than laser printers, so it's hard to see why more companies haven't switched technologies in order to save on manufacturing costs.
