Hand carts are very convenient to have in the garage, office or warehouse. In the home hand carts are used for transporting heavy goods from one location to another i.e. bags of coal etc. In the office hand trolleys are regularly used for transporting large boxes of files etc. In the warehouse a hand trolley or hand truck is a must for receiving deliveries and moving items around the warehouse. Hand carts would also be an essential tool for couriers and truck drivers.

We have a large selection of hand carts many made from strong steel frames for durability. Our hand trolleys have load capacities from 35kg up to 300kg. We also have hand trolleys designed to easily climb stairs, they contain a pyramid wheel assembly allowing them to easily mount kerbs and climb stairs. Many of our larger hand carts have pneumatic wheels making heavy loads easy to transport.

We also have a number of fold-able hand carts that are ideal to use in the home as they are very convenient for storage.

For larger and heavier loads we have a selection of platform trucks which can hold up to 500kg in weight, these are ideal for warehouse use when you need to transport lots of large items from one location to another.

Benefits of using a hand cart or platform truck

• Reduces the risk of employees getting injured or having back strain from lifting heavy boxes.

• As many hand carts have the capacity to hold a number of boxes etc. you improve efficiency.

• Hand carts and hand trucks are designed to hold weight making easy to transport heavy items.

Safety steps when using a hand truck

• Don’t overload, when buying a hand truck you should know the maximum load capacity and always make sure you don’t exceed the maximum load capacity.

• Choose the correct hand trolley for the job i.e. if you are transporting items up a stairs then you should buy a hand trolley suitable for climbing stairs. Also if the goods you are transporting are quite large and take up more volume than weight then a platform truck might be more suitable than a hand cart.

• Don’t over pack your hand cart, when putting boxes etc on a hand cart, don’t stack too many on top of each other as they are likely to topple over.

• Securely pack items, when putting items on a hand cart always securely stack the products i.e. larger items on the base and stack smaller items on top (providing the weight of the smaller items won’t damage the larger items). It may also be necessary to use straps to keep the items in place.
