The Beurer PO30 pulse oximeter is a certified medical device designed for practical self-monitoring of your arterial oxygen saturation and heart rate (pulse) whether at home or out and about or travelling.
A pulse oximeter is useful for people with heart disease, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases or even bronchial asthma, but also for athletes and healthy people who exercise at high altitude (e.g. mountaineers, skiers or amateur pilots).
The measurement is non-invasive and painless, as two light beams of different wavelengths strike the inserted finger inside the housing.
Oxygen saturation indicates the percentage of haemoglobin in arterial blood that is loaded with oxygen. It is therefore an important parameter for assessing the respiratory function.
