Plotter paper is usually sold by the roll.

There are several types of plotter paper available in different sizes and textures:
• Coated and Uncoated Plotter Paper
Uncoated bond plotter paper is used when printing black and white line drawings. Uncoated plotter paper is designed for high-resolution, sharp line drawings and limited areas of pastel shading in CAD or engineering drawing applications.

Plotter paper, that is suitable for high resolution photo prints, usually features high gloss, semi-gloss or matte plotter paper finish. Most people tend to choose the gloss finish plotter paper, as it produces a great finish, but it might leave fingerprints, if not handled carefully.

• Speciality Plotter Paper

	"i have tried using some other brands for this size of plotter paper but in fairness not a single one that would even close to the quality of the HP C6035A. this one here is really white while some of other ones that i have purchased simply were kind of like white. it is better to spend a small bit extra and get a really good paper roll than be frustrated with poor results that you might get when using dodgy brands. and in fairness it doesn't cost a fortune here."

	"We often use the HP C6035A DesignJet Paper Roll (610mm - 90gsm) for ordnance maps. The HP DesignJet paper is far better quality to some of the cheaper versions you can pick up for half the price. We tried using the cheaper paper a while back but our customers started to complain about the quality. We now strictly use HP DesignJet paper."
