How to Change your Securikey Keypad Door Lock Code Number

1) Remove the securikey keypad door lock from the door
2) Remove the 4 retaining screws from the back of the keypad. Take EXTRA care to keep the keypad on a flat surface, when you are removing the covering plate, because there are a lot of small components inside.
3) You will now see that here are 5 red coloured coded tumblers and 8 blue coloured uncoded tumblers plus 1 clear tumbler (‘C’ button).
4) To change your code push the ‘C’ button down and hold it. You can the easily remove 1 or more of your coded & uncoded tumblers, using the tweezers supplied. Remember, the red tumblers represent coded digits and the blue represent non-coded digits
5) Please note you should NEVER remove the ‘C’ Tumbler
6) Please note the different shapes of tumblers, before reinserting them into the lock body. Firstly there is a difference in shape between the coded & uncoded tumblers, illustrated below. And secondly when refitting the tumblers into the lock body, they must be fitted facing the right way, again see the illustration below. (All square cut-outs must face outwards)
7) After you have refitted the tumblers and make a note of the new code, please replace the metal plate with the 4 screws
8) PLEASE NOTE – With the spare tumblers provided, you can either increase the number of digits in your code to 6 – 7 or reduce to 3 – 4.

We had issues with customers using the public toilets in our store and sneaking into the warehouse located next to the toilets. We needed a low cost solution to restrict access to the warehouse. I wanted a lock that was fairly easy to install and didn\'t require any maintenance. As we have staff in and out of the warehouse I needed a lock that could withstand frequent heavy use. I am very satisfied with the securikey, the keypad is easy to use. You get so used to quickly using the keypad that you naturally key in the code every time you approach the warehouse door. We also got a door closer which works out well as we don\'t have to worry about people not closing the door properly when exiting the warehouse.

We have found that this digital door lock has been a very inexpensive way to secure our laboratory. Because we use very light sensitive equipment and some ultrasonic equipment we needed to ensure that access was restricted to qualified and trained staff. This digital door lock has a huge amount of combinations that it would be virtually impossible to gain entry. It does not have to be wired in electrically because it has a mechanical operation and no batteries either. It is a really clever product and gives us added security in our restricted areas.
